NTPS President and CEO Retires, Names Replacement
On behalf of the Board of Trustees, the National Test Pilot School announces that Patrick Garman, President and CEO of NTPS, is retiring at the end of 2023. Mr. Jeff Trang has been named as his successor, effective December 15th.
Pat has served NTPS on the Board of Trustees since 2012 and was selected to serve as the Chief Marketing Officer in 2019. Pat was later promoted to President & CEO in 2022, following the NTPS acquisition of Flight Research International (FRI). Pat is retiring to his home in Gig Harbor, WA with his wife Kathy. He will continue to serve NTPS as the incoming Chairman of the NTPS Board of Trustees, replacing Mr. Tom Morgenfeld, who is retiring after 12 years’ service on the Board, 11 of which as Board Chair.
A Fellow in the Society of Experimental Test Pilots, Jeff joined NTPS as the Chief Marketing Officer in May 2023 following his retirement from Airbus Helicopters, Inc. A graduate of the U.S. Naval Test Pilot School, Jeff served as an experimental test pilot and master aviator in the U.S. Army, retiring as a lieutenant colonel in 2004 before joining the FAA. He holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, an MS in Electrical Engineering from Texas A&M, and an MS in Systems Engineering from SMU. He resides in Lancaster with his wife, Dianna.
