Celebrating Capstone Achievements at NTPS
- December 10, 2024
Congratulations to our Professional Course students for the successful completion of their Capstone Projects! With 11 project groups this year, both fixed-wing and rotary-wing students traveled all across the United States to evaluate aircraft and presented their findings just prior to the Thanksgiving holiday.
The Capstone Project for Professional Course students is a rigorous hands-on comprehensive exercise that encapsulates the entire process of a flight test program. Under supervision of a staff instructor, students independently apply the knowledge gained during their course of study at NTPS to perform mission analysis, develop a test plan, conduct safety and technical reviews, execute flight tests, analyze data, and deliver both oral and written reports. Academically, the Capstone Project represents the students’ theses. The project aircraft this year were the North American T-2B “Buckeye”, Dassault/Dornier Alpha Jet A, Bell 429, Cirrus Vision SF50, Sikorsky S-76B, MiG-21UM , Eurocopter AS-350 AStar, Cessna Citation II, Cessna Citation Super Sierra II, and AgustaWestland AW-119 MKII “Koala”. Well done to all involved!
