Academic Qualifications
- BS in Systems Engineering from the US Naval Academy.
- Aeronautical Engineering MS from the Air Force Institute of Technology (completed upon graduating from the US Naval TPS).
Flight Qualifications
- US Naval TPS (Test Pilot School) Graduate (2006).
- H-46 and H-1 Search and Rescue pilot (early Navy career).
- H-60, H-72 and C-12 test pilot instructor.
- C-130 pilot.
- Holds an ATP (Airline Transport Pilot) license.
- Holds a CFII (Certificated Flight Instructor Instrument) rating in both helicopters and multi-engine airplanes.
- Over 5,600 hours of flight time in over 75 models of aircraft.
Flight Test Experience
- US Navy:
- Tested H-60s, specializing in Airborne Mine Counter Measures and Ground Proximity Warning System development.
- Frequent 99th percentile anthropometric subject for wearable equipment, cockpit interface, and egress evaluations.
- MQ-8 Fire Scout Government Flight Test Director at VX-30 (final military assignment).
- Civilian:
- Test pilot and manager for Lockheed Martin Skunk Works on classified uncrewed programs with several manned flying duties.
- Flight Test Lead at Joby Aviation developing the JAS4-1 eVTOL flying taxi.
Professional Affiliations
- Member of SFTE (Society of Flight Test Engineers).
- Fellow of the Society of Experimental Test Pilots (SETP).
- Served in various positions for SETP, including as President in 2022-2023.
