ALL ATTITUDE JET UPRT

Duration

3 training days (4 days with 1 backup day available)

Course Description

The All Attitude Jet UPRT course provides the foundational knowledge for recognizing upset attitudes and recovering from them.  This course is designed to expose students with dynamic maneuvers to include all-attitude flying with upset recoveries and high altitude UPRT training. Academics provide the student with the fundamental knowledge required to grasp the concepts that affect the aircraft flight envelope, causes and recognition of upsets and recovery techniques. Aircraft specific training, flight briefings and debriefings emphasize specific learning outcomes for each flight.  Flight training includes one flight in a Sabreliner and one flight in an Impala. There is an option to add an additional rear cockpit (RCP) flight in the Impala for those pilots with very little all attitude experience who feel an additional familiarization flight in the RCP of the Impala would enhance their training experience.

Each student will:

  • Receive 7 hours of academic training to include
    • UPRT Introduction
    • Subsonic Aerodynamics review
    • Aircraft Limits, certification criteria and how that fits into upsets
    • Propulsion
    • Stability and Control
    • Digital flight controls
    • Energy management and lift vector control
    • Basic maneuver toolbox and recovery techniques
    • High altitude and high speed environment and performance effects
    • Transonic and supersonic aerodynamics
    • Transonic and supersonic flying qualities
    • Human Physiology and Upset causal factors
    • High performance operational considerations and case studies
    • Course wrap-up and debrief
  • Receive approximately 8 hours of ground training:
    • Aircraft specific ground training
    • Flight gear fitting and issue
    • Aircraft specific cockpit familiarization
    • Local area familiarization
    • Flight briefings and debriefings
  • Receive one flight in a Sabreliner and one flight in an Impala (An initial RCP flight is an available option for enhanced familiarization) of approximately 1 hour each to include:
    • Familiarization with the aircraft and airspace
    • Low speed energy management
    • Approach to stall recovery training
    • Certification full stall training
    • Full Stall Training
    • Accelerated stall training

        • Tailslides
        • Spins
        • Cross control skid
        • Cross control slip
