The National Test Pilot School has signed a Memorandum of Agreement with Berkeley Drones, creating a strategic partnership between a pioneer in professional flight-test education and a team of internationally recognized UC Berkeley engineering professors.

Autonomous systems are revolutionizing aerospace and transitioning them from the lab into real-world service takes two things: strong science and disciplined flight test. This partnership brings both together.

Combined, NTPS and Berkeley Drones offer expertise across:

• Autonomous flight and artificial intelligence
• Digital twins and advanced sensing
• Advanced materials, propulsion and manufacturing
• Experimental testing and professional flight-test training

As part of this partnership, Berkeley Drones’ research expertise will be built into the NTPS curriculum, so our students receive the latest advances in autonomy and drone technology alongside proven flight-test methods.

Together, we will help the military, governmental agencies, and industry build complete drone and autonomous-systems ecosystems. That includes customized advanced education, instructor development, and integrated centers that bring research, manufacturing, testing and workforce development under one roof, so partners build technological and industrial lasting capabilities.
